Home EV Charger Installation
Houston & South Texas

Level 2 EV charger installation for homes across Houston, the Gulf Coast and South Texas, done to code by licensed electricians on our team. Tesla, Rivian, Ford, GM and every other EV.

Why Every EV Owner Should Install a Level 2 Charger

Most EVs come with a Level 1 "trickle charger" that plugs into a standard outlet. It works, but barely. Here is the difference a Level 2 install makes:

FeatureLevel 1 Charger (Included with EV)Level 2 Charger (Professional Install)
Power Supply120V standard outlet240V dedicated circuit
Charge Rate3–5 miles of range per hour25–35 miles of range per hour
Full Charge (60 kWh battery)20–30 hours6–8 hours (overnight)
Cost to InstallNone (uses existing outlet)$450–$1,200 typical
Utility IncentivesNoSome utilities offer charger rebates. We check your address.

Rebates Vary by Utility. We Check for You.

Charger rebates and incentives change often and depend on who delivers your power. We do not promise a number we cannot show you. During the free estimate we check what applies at your address, and if a rebate exists we handle the paperwork and submit it before the install so you are in the system.

Eligibility rules change. We confirm what is current when we visit, and we never count an incentive in your quote that you have not actually qualified for.

Will your panel handle it?

Quick Check

Will your panel handle what you want to add?

Pick what you are planning. We will tell you if a 100A panel is likely to handle it, or if a 200A upgrade is probably in your future. Rough guide only. The free visit includes a real load calculation.

How EV Charger Installation Works

1

Free Panel Assessment

A licensed electrician visits your home and checks your existing panel capacity. If your panel needs a 200A upgrade first (required for 48A EVSE circuits), we quote both together. A large share of homes built before 1990 need a panel upgrade before an EV charger install.

2

Charger Selection

We work with all major brands (ChargePoint, JuiceBox, Grizzl-E, Tesla Wall Connector) and help you pick the right amperage for your EV, typically 32A, 40A, or 48A circuits. We recommend Level 2 chargers in the $350–$700 range for most homeowners.

3

Permit & Rebate Check

We pull the electrical permit and check for any utility rebate at your address. If one applies, we handle the application before the install.

4

Installation Day

Most EV charger installs take 2–4 hours. We run the circuit from your panel, mount the charger in your garage (or outdoors, if preferred), and test with your actual vehicle before we leave.

5

Inspection & Follow-Up

The inspection is scheduled and completed. We send you the inspection record and follow up on any rebate status to make sure you receive it.

EV Charger FAQ

Not always. It depends on your existing panel capacity and the charger amperage you want. If your 100A panel has available capacity, a 32A or 40A EV charger circuit may be possible. However, if you want a 48A charger (the fastest residential option), you will typically need a 200A panel. We assess your panel load during the free estimate.
EV charger installation typically costs $450–$1,200, depending on how far your panel is from your garage, whether conduit is needed through finished walls, and the circuit amperage. If you also need a panel upgrade, add $1,800–$3,200. Some utilities offer charger rebates. We check what applies at your address and handle the paperwork. We provide itemized estimates that show you exactly what you will spend.
Technically yes, if you are a licensed electrician. Practically, no. Utility rebate programs and charger warranties generally require licensed installation, and a 240V circuit done wrong is a fire risk. Given what is at stake, DIY rarely makes sense.
We are brand-agnostic and work with whatever the homeowner prefers, but we most commonly install ChargePoint Home Flex, JuiceBox 40, Grizzl-E Classic, and Tesla Wall Connector. For non-Tesla EVs: ChargePoint Home Flex is our top pick (adjustable amperage, good app). For Tesla: the Tesla Wall Connector is the best fit. We can supply the charger or you can purchase your own. Either way works.
Yes. Most Level 2 chargers are rated for outdoor installation. We install outdoor chargers frequently for homeowners without garages or with carports. All outdoor EV charger circuits use weatherproof conduit, NEMA-rated enclosures, and GFCI protection as required by electrical code.
Yes. Workplace, multifamily, retail and fleet charging is its own service. See EV charging for business.
